Welcome to the Blue Mountain Endurance Winter Trail Run Series!
The Winter Trail Run Series consists of two unique trail races held around the Bennington lake just east of downtown Walla Walla. The series races will be held on two weekends and can be run as individual races, as well as competing in the "series" (must complete both races to be considered for series standings) to earn division awards.
*Registration will be held day of race. Just show up...sign up...Race!
These races are designed to be fun, challenging and family friendly, but not expensive, and you'll save money by being entering the series.
Entry: $20 per race at registration -or- $30 for the series (sign up for both races at race #1 and save money)
**Blue Mountain Endurance members pay $20 dollars for series! Click the link at top of page to pay member dues for the year and save on race entry and take advantage of other member benefits! (group workouts, product discounts, etc.)
**If you plan to race both courses, please save your race number to help save paper and keep race costs low!
Race Location: Both races take place at Bennington Lake near Walla Walla. Coming from Hwy. 12, take the Walla Walla Community College exit, (Hwy. 12 East turn right on Tausick Way. Hwy. 12 West turn left on Tausick Way). Turn left on Reservoir Rd. and follow the signs to Bennington Lake.
Race #1....Ramble Round 'the Rez'
Sunday January, 17th 10am (registration starts at 9am)
The Ramble Round the Rez will be 3.5 mile long course starting and finishing at the reservoir parking lot (Bennington Lake). As with any trail race, the course will feature an abundance of challenging features that will not always lend itself to fast running, so plan to come out and enjoy the course, but don't plan on a PR.
Race #2....Beatdown on Bennington
Saturday January, 30th 10am (registration starts at 9am)
The Beatdown on Bennington will feature the same 5.5 mile course as it did in 2015, staging from the Bennington Lake (the reservoir) parking lot (same location at the Ramble Round the Rez). The course will feature big climbs and descents, double and single track trails, and whatever weather happens to show up that day!
Both courses are TRAIL RACES so they will be run in any conditions (barring natural disaster!) so please come prepared. Trail conditions can range from dry hardpack dirt, to very slick mud, to perhaps even snow or frozen trails. Come prepared with adequate clothing, appropriate shoes (trail shoes, cross country spikes/flats, running shoes, whatever your preference). Both courses will feature challenging terrain with climbs of various lengths, technical running surfaces, etc.
Results / Awards
Results will be available as fast as humanly possibly at the conclusion of each race, these races are hand timed and calculated so please be patient. Results will be posted online (here) by the end of the day after the race.
Top 5 runners overall will be announced and recognized (for men and women) at each race, but awards will be given for SERIES racers only (which means you need to complete both races to be eligible for awards).
Series results will be calculated using Cross-Country scoring (lowest point total wins, points awarded based on your finishing place in category...1st place gets one point, 2nd place two point, etc.) within your race category. In the event of a tie, winner will be determined by higher finish place during the Beatdown on Bennington (Race #2). Series awards will be awarded at the conclusion of the Beatdown on Bennington, with awards given to top-3 individuals in each category for the series.
Race categories are:
*Men Under 25, 25-44, 45+
*Women Under 25, 25-44, 45+
